What a prefab steel house is like
A prefab steel house is built on a structure of galvanised steel profiles cut and assembled in a workshop with millimetre precision. On the plot the structure is placed on the foundations and closed with the insulation layers, cladding and finishes you choose.
Steel is light and very strong: the structure weighs little, puts less load on the foundations and goes up quickly. It does not rot, insects do not affect it and it is recyclable. As it has little mass, thermal and acoustic comfort depend on the insulation layers of the envelope, which are sized in the project.
The models on this page can be built in steel. In the configurator you choose the technology together with the size and finishes, and you see the exact price as you choose.
Frequently asked questions
The average turnkey delivery time is 6 months from the moment the building permit is granted. The structure is made under cover in a workshop, with quality control at every stage, and then assembled on your plot.
Yes, the same as any home. It complies with the Spanish Building Code (CTE), the Building Act (LOE) and the local planning rules of the municipality, which grants the permit. FindNido drafts and certifies the project and handles the permit for you.
Not if the envelope is well insulated. In a steel house the insulation sits in the layers around the structure and is calculated in the project for the climate of your plot. FindNido homes are delivered with an A+ energy rating.
The structure changes, not the design: most models are offered in several technologies. Steel is light, precise and quick to assemble. Concrete adds more thermal mass and sound insulation, and wood brings warmth and a renewable material. You can compare them in the configurator with the same model.
